About This Project

Pantaya is a multilingual video streaming app created for Lionsgate and Pantelion Films to showcase their catalog of Spanish-language films. App users can browse in Spanish or English and watch content in both languages across Web, TV, and mobile platforms.

I worked on Pantaya’s user experience, flows, requirements, wireframes, and localization. My primary focus was to ensure that language support and localization were reflected throughout the app, from the copy to design patterns all the way down to individual buttons.

Language patterns have an impact on design, because they affect how elements can be emphasized or de-emphasized visually. Differing phrase lengths and meanings across languages can affect how much space design elements like buttons, menus, and keyboards need. As a product designer, I partnered with the Lionsgate Spanish-language team and the Starz visual design team to anticipate and design for these challenges.
